Meet Our Team

Jack Young

Service Manager

Jack Young, the Service Manager at Whiskey Ridge, was born and raised in Austin, Texas, where he grew up surrounded by the restaurant business. Working at his family’s establishment, COVER 3, from a young age, Jack developed a passion for hospitality that has shaped his career. A graduate of the University of Arkansas, Jack is known for his easy-going nature, kindness, and ability to make everyone feel at home. With deep roots in the industry, he’s excited to bring his experience and welcoming spirit to Whiskey Ridge as he embarks on this new chapter.

Jimmy Zumwalt

Operating Partner

Jimmy was born and raised on a ranch just down the road from Whiskey Ridge. A graduate of Jack C Hays High School, where he was an active member of the FFA and 4-H Agriculture clubs, Jimmy has deep roots in the Hill Country.  His experiences growing up in agriculture helped shape his hardworking nature and strong connection to the land.

Jimmy is the epitome of Texas hospitality, known for his fun-loving personality and heartfelt dedication to guest service.  A friendly face, Jimmy welcomes every guest with a warm “welcome home”, a greeting that’s not only become his signature but also shapes the culture of Whiskey Ridge. His genuine, down to earth approach makes everyone feel like part of the family, capturing the essence of the Texas spirit.  Whether greeting newcomers, familiar friends or longtime guests, Jimmy’s ability to make others feel at home has earned him a special place in the hearts of all who visit.

Jimmy’s journey in the restaurant industry began at the age of 16, prepping desserts and making salads at Shoreline Grill. His charismatic personality quickly led him from the kitchen to the front of the house as a busboy at Z’Tejas on 6th Street, where Matt Dodson was the floor manager and Doug Young was tending bar.  Jimmy's performance and personality quickly earned him additional responsibilities and Matt eventually threw him into the bar with a quick motivational speech: "Sink or Swim".  Luckily for everyone, Jimmy did more than swim, he thrived – discovering that his success came from feeling at home and having fun behind the bar.  Jimmy eventually moved on to other opportunities but remained close with Doug and Matt.  After managing a Truluck’s and crafting cocktails for restaurant clients with Patrick Henry Creative Promotions, Jimmy eagerly returned to work alongside Doug and Matt with the opening of their first restaurant, COVER 3.  Now, sixteen years and four successful restaurants later, he is excited to take on a new chapter as the Operating Partner at Whiskey Ridge, returning to Driftwood with his passion for hospitality and love for the community that’s contributed so much to who he is
